David J. Chesire, Ph.D., is an associate professor of surgery within the division of acute care surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. Chesire, who specializes in psychology, is also director of the Center for Healthy Minds and Practice on the UF Health Jacksonville campus.

Chesire’s academic and clinical interests include grief counseling, violence prevention, hospital-community collaboration and antidepressant medication within acute care settings.
