Quality
UF Health Jacksonville’s latest Vizient scores are another indicator of our advancements in quality care.
UF Health Jacksonville continues to make great advances in quality goals. The latest reason to celebrate is our Vizient scores.
Vizient is a national quality benchmarking group we submit data to. Through that process, we can compare our progress against similar organizations. Our cohort includes all safety-net hospitals, many large academic health centers and a few high-acuity centers. It is a good group to benchmark against. We receive rankings for mortality, safety (preventing hospital-acquired complications), effectiveness (readmissions), patient satisfaction, efficiency (cost and length of stay) and an overall rank.
The goal is to be No. 1 in the cohort. That means the lower the score, the better. This year, we improved our scores in every category, including overall. Following are the numbers:
The results show we are providing high-quality care in a safe, compassionate and cost-effective way for all patients, regardless of their condition. It takes commitment from everybody. Yes, the physicians and nurses are key at the bedside, but everyone impacts the healing journey of our patients — from Security, Food Services and Admissions to the folks who keep our finances in order.
We will continuing working for that No. 1 spot. But, for now, we should celebrate and say thanks to our senior leaders for helping us achieve such great feats.
