Quality
UF Health Jacksonville’s quality metrics continue to improve as we garner national acclaim in annual rankings.
Wonderful advances in quality are happening at UF Health Jacksonville. The hospital has seen improvements in several metrics while garnering recognition from highly respected organizations that assess medical facilities across the country.
The morality index is extremely low and mortality due to sepsis is at its lowest point ever. Readmissions have decreased by nearly 20% and amazing care coordination is happening for the patients we serve. Infections of every sort are at the lowest rates ever recorded. These include catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line-associated bloodstream infections, surgical complications and hospital-acquired infections.
ACCOLADES
Healthgrades, a national organization that analyzes the performance of hospitals in the United States, recognized UF Health Jacksonville this year as one of the top 250 hospitals in the country. We are among the best in the nation and shouldn’t be shy about letting others know.
More recently, U.S. News & World Report — which is well-known for its ranking system and annual reports on American colleges, graduate schools and hospitals — recognized UF Health Jacksonville as a high-performing hospital in three specialties this year. Two of those three areas ranked in the Top 50 nationwide.
UF Health Jacksonville also moved up to third locally and advanced five spots to No. 16 in the state. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people are working every day to advance the care, services and outcomes delivered to our patients and families.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report rates nearly 5,000 hospitals across the country on 16 specialties and nine procedures and conditions. The 20 hospitals with the most and highest rankings and the greatest number of high-performing procedure and condition ratings are recognized in the Honor Roll.
Moving forward, the UF Board of Trustees set U.S. News & World Report goals for UF Health Jacksonville, challenging us to be No. 1 in our area and one of the Top 10 hospitals in state by 2025.
